Odesk first Job
I have heard of Odesk long time ago but never did I attempt to join the network. Last night, out of the blue I registered. Amazing! even before I completed my profile, I applied for a job and I was granted right away! Although the pay is a little bit smaller than what I am receiving per post with my present advertiser, I considered it good for a start.
Are you an Odesk member? Try it now! You might be lucky with them!
First Community Cooperative ( FICCO) General Assembly
Pictures taken during the First Community Cooperative FICCO General Assembly last March 17,2013. As usual thousands members gathered during the assembly. Although assembly was separated for each of their 23 branch, but still because of their growing membership, the venue at Corpus Cristi Gymn can not contain the people who are excited to get their dividend.
To know more about FICCCO, here’s the excerpt from www.cdodev.com :
First Community Cooperative (FICCO), one of the largest and fastest growing cooperative in the Philippines which originated in Cagayan de Oro City, is setting up branches in the Visayas and Makati City in an attempt to build 20 branches within the next two years according to Vicente B. Rana, chief executive officer of FICCO as published in a local daily.
Ground works for its first branch in the Visayas to be located in Jagna, Bohol has already commenced and it already bought a condominium unit for its branch in Makati City.
The cooperative, which has about P3.8 billion in assets, chose Bohol because of its proximity to Camiguin as there is a passenger ship plying the route.
The condominium unit in Makati City, on the other hand, was bought for P800,000, a cheap price, because the property was foreclosed by a bank, said Rana, who will directly supervise the branch.
Jesus G. Cornito, a member of its board of director, said the two new branches are part of the 16-branch package the cooperative, which turns 56 on July 8, is planning to put up within the year.
“We are looking at increasing our membership to at least 150,000 (from 134,515 at present,” Cornito said.
Rana said that in expanding its operations, the cooperative will continue to be aggressive in its recruitment of new members by showing these new recruits the advantage of being members of a cooperative as it already has 51 branches.
He said the cooperative will tap its funds for the expansions as it does not need any outside help to reach the goal it set for the next two years.
“We will continue to explain to them our culture of volunteerism and the fact that we offer the lowest interest in lending (compared with other financing institution) and the highest interest in savings,” he said in reference to lending interest rates of 8.5% annually and savings interest rates of 4.5% annually.
Although its main business has been lending as it already has a portfolio of about P2 billion this year, Mr. Rana said the cooperative has already started other businesses like a funeral homes and a housing project in Cagayan de Oro City.
In the city, the cooperative has also gone into partnering with some of those who formed themselves into a group so they could avail of units. What the cooperative did was to finance the acquiring of some houses that were foreclosed and allowing those who wanted to own them to pay the cooperative at a very low interest rate, he said.
It was also in the city last year when the cooperative merged with another big cooperative, the Filipino Merchant Cooperative which at that time already had two branches. “The city has remained to be among the biggest areas for expansion,” said Rana as the cooperative is eyeing three branches to put up in the city within the next two years.
Beware of Online Surveys that are scam
There’s been a lot of commotion about paid surveys lately . A lot of my blogger friends invited me to some new paid survey sites. This is not a new phenomenon, ted first in participating online surveys before I went full time blogging. People conducting different kinds of research have been paying participants of focus groups for quite a while now. Especially marketing companies who pay to the participants of such groups. With the advent of the internet it has become very convenient for these firms to conduct such research surveys. The collection of data has become very stress-free and simple for marketing companies.
Everyone should be careful . Well since there is so much competition between sites offering paid surveys there are naturally both genuine and fraudulent offerings. It is up to the individual to research the different offerings to find out what will pay well and what won’t. Many of them are genuine and good enough to make money from the comfort of your home but there are lots also who are scams.
One eminent proof that the online survey is a scam is when they site asked for registration fee before you can take surveys. Please do not be trapped with their advertisement, enticing you with 5 digit earning a month. I know a friend who investment a hundred bucks but was not given a task since she paid the company. Beware!
Set a budget and stick to it !
I heard a friend day it’s hard to follow her budget when she’s out in the mall shopping. She’s a certified shopaholic and impulse buyer. She often trapped with marketing strategy of stores offering sales… when in fact the original price was doubled then turned half because of 50% discount.
I should say say, the best way to avoid overspending is to stick to your budget. This is why it really pays to set a specific budget plan for everything . My hubby boasted of my good budgeting skills..although sometimes he and the kids complains about my being thrifty. Why spent 10 folds for a movie ticket when we can watch the same movie at the convenience of our home ? We have a home theater gadgets , a big screen LED TV and a fridge full of snacks? Why buy new pair shoes and clothing when we have just received two big balikbayan boxes from the US? Why buy an expensive synthetic food supplement which I know price is quadrupled due to the Multi-level- networking scheme when I can get the same nutrients from eating organic vegetables and fruits? My list goes on and on… my point is we need to be rational and stick to the budget if you wish not get yourself into trouble with your finances.

How to claim an Educationan Plan Policy
I wrote and article about ” The Professional Educational Plan” last year. Today, I read and approved a comment coming from a policy holder of the company asking for help on how she can claim her child’s educational plan which will mature this year. Her child will be going to college this year and she’s asking me to assist her in claiming the scholarship plan.
Well, she seem to be very serious in asking for help as she left me her complete name, address and cell phone number. She even thank me in advance. Whew! I am only a blogger but I will try my best to help this person.
